Doordash Summer of Dashpass promo $15 off and more

Doordash has released their Summer of DashPass promo, kicking off $15 off any order from 7/27-8/2 for DashPass members.  The Summer of DashPass will consist of the following weekly promos:

7/27-8/2: $15 off any order
8/3-8/9: Free slice of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory when you order $12+
8/10-8/16: Buy 1 get 1 free Chipotle entree
8/17-8/23: $20 off pickup order
8/24-8/30: $15 off convenience order
8/31-9/6: $15 off pizza orders

As you can see, these are valuable weekly promos where you can get food for pretty much free if you're a DashPass member.  DashPass is Doordash's premium paid membership that offers $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on orders $12+.  Typically, Doordash offers a 1-month free trial for DashPass.  However, you can get free extended DashPass memberships with any of the following Chase credit cards:

Chase Reserve: free for at least one year, $60 credit in 2020 and $60 credit in 2021
Chase Sapphire Preferred: free for at least one year
Chase Freedom and Slate: free for the first 3 months, 50% off ($4.99 monthly) for the next 9 months


Currently, Doordash is also offering Chase Freedom card holders an additional $10 credit for activating their DashPass membership before 9/30/2020.  Since the $10 is an actual credit and not a promo code, it can actually be stacked with the existing $15 off Summer of DashPass promo, giving you $25 off any order.



Bottom line

If you have a Chase Reserve, Sapphire, Freedom, or Slate card, the Summer of DashPass promo is definitely worth taking advantage of as it's literally free food with free delivery.  And if you don't have an eligible Chase card, you can still sign up for a 1-month free trial to take advantage of the 6-week promo.

In a surprise move, Citi has added American Airlines as a transfer partner for their ThankYou Points (TYP) earning credit cards.  What's especially intriguing is that even no annual fee cards that normally don't offer transfers to loyalty programs are eligible for this new and temporary partnership, albeit at a lower transfer ratio.  Citi's premium line of cards, including the Prestige and the Premier, both have 1:1 transfer capability with AAdvantage miles (1,000 TYP = 1,000 AAdvantage miles).  Whereas no annual fee cards, including the ThankYou Preferred and the Rewards+, get a 2:1 transfer ratio (1,000 TYP = 500 AAdvantage miles).  This transfer partnership is valid from July 18 through November 13, though one could speculate that it could be extended. Park Hyatt Sydney review

For our trip to Australia's east coast, we started off with a 4-night stay in Sydney.  We decided to stay at the Park Hyatt Sydney as it has been consistently rated as one of the best Hyatt luxury properties worldwide.  The hotel, located in the heart of Sydney Harbor at the Rocks, is famous for its stunning views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Price As a category 8 hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney is Hyatt's most expensive award category ranging from 35k-45k points per night.  Fortunately, since we were traveling during Australia's "slower" winter season, we were able to get off-peak rates of 35k for most of our nights in a standard 1 King Bed room.
