HOT: Amazon 30% or 40% off w/1 Amex MR point

For the second time in as many months, Amazon and American Express have another great promo when you redeem just 1 Amex MR (Membership Rewards) point towards purchases shipped and sold by Amazon.  But this time, the deal is even sweeter as you can score 30% or 40% off.

There appear to be two versions of the current promo:

• 30% off with a maximum discount of $30 (up to $100 in total purchases)
• 40% off with a maximum discount of $50 (up to $125 in total purchases)

Both promos end on the earlier of (a) 11:59 PT on 6/30/2020, or (b) the time at which 25,000 customers have redeemed the offer, so don't delay in taking advantage of it.  It shouldn't be that difficult for most to spend $100 or $125 on Amazon to maximize the offer given the current shelter in place orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  But in case you have difficulty, a simple and easy way to maximize this offer would be to buy the many 3rd party gift cards that Amazon sells, including Safeway, Uber, Lowe's, iTunes, etc.

Quick thoughts

It's great to see Amazon and Amex bring this promo back consistently, especially during this trying time when we're likely to be spending a lot for online purchases.  If you've been targeted, it shouldn't be hard for you to max out on this offer.  And remember that Amazon sells a ton of 3rd party gift cards that are eligible for this promo.
