Delta flash sale: 30,000 miles roundtrip to Tokyo

Delta is currently offering some crazy cheap economy class award tickets to Tokyo from the U.S starting at 30,000 SkyMiles roundtrip.  Many dates are available throughout March, April, and May, and most will require a layover at one of Delta's hubs.

Delta is in the process of moving most of their Tokyo-Narita flights to Tokyo-Haneda, which is the far more convenient option for those wishing to visit Tokyo or connecting onward to another domestic destination.  Starting March 29, 2020, they'll have 7 nonstop routes between the U.S. and HND.

Although it's not saying much, Delta does offer the best economy class product to Japan out of the three major U.S. carriers.  Their new A350s offer 9-inch seatback entertainment sets with complimentary HBO and Starz channels. USB and power ports and WiFi are available at every seat, and headsets, text messaging, and alcoholic drinks are all free.  They even offer hot towel service in economy class with a sleep kit.

The flash sale starting at 30k miles are all searchable and bookable on Delta's website.

Quick thoughts

This is an excellent flash sale for Delta.  Normally, roundtrip economy class travel between the U.S. would set you back 60k+ miles with most carriers, and it's great to see plenty of dates where you can get to Tokyo for less than half that cost.  I don't expect this flash sale to last long, so if you were thinking of going to Tokyo this spring to check out the cherry blossoms, this could be a really good opportunity for you to go for cheap.
