Roundtrip SFO/SJC to Europe for only $329 with all 3 alliances
The 3 major alliances (Star Alliance, Oneworld, and SkyTeam) are all running cheap fares for as low as $329 for roundtrip economy class travel between SFO/SJC and Europe, including Barcelona, London, Paris, and Rome. The flights are operated with a combination of partner carriers, and are available from January through May 2020.
To book the flights, you can use Google Flights and perform a calendar search for the lowest fares. The cheapest I've found so far:
SFO-BCN for $329 with Iberia nonstop (OneWorld)
SFO-LHR for $374 with Star Alliance
SFO-CDG for $349 with SkyTeam
SFO-FCO for $390 with Star Alliance
This is a great opportunity to hit up the Eiffel Tower, the Coliseum, or the Tower Bridge next spring. Most of the fares will be for Basic Economy, but you can "upgrade" to regular economy for typically $80-$160 roundtrip depending on the carrier so that you can select a seat, earn more miles, and check a bag.
