Happy Holidays: $20 off $100 with 1 Amex MR point returns!

'Tis the season for Amazon to be running sweet deals with Amex Membership Rewards.  Amazon currently has a widely-targeted offer where you can get $20 off $100 if you use just 1 Amex MR point towards the purchase.  Many users are reporting success in being eligible for this limited-time offer, which ends end on the earlier of (a) 11:59 PT on 12/02/2019, or (b) the time at which offers worth $5,000,000 have been redeemed.  To see if you qualify, simply go to the promo page and click on "Activate now".  Also make sure that your Amex MR card is linked to your Amazon account.




Although Amazon gift cards are not eligible for the $20 off $100, 3rd party gift cards like Uber, Lyft Whole Foods, Safeway, and many more do qualify.  So even if you don't currently have a $100+ purchase in mind at Amazon, you could simply buy a 3rd party gift card at a retailer that you do normally shop at.  And to sweeten the deal even further, Amazon is also currently running 20% off Lightning Deals on select gift cards, including iTunes, Brinker Group restaurants, and more.

This Amex deal may not last long, so take advantage of it today!  Since I value Amex MR at more than a penny each, I would recommend just using the minimum of 1 point (1 cent) towards the purchase to qualify for the $20 off $100.

Park Hyatt Sydney review

For our trip to Australia's east coast, we started off with a 4-night stay in Sydney.  We decided to stay at the Park Hyatt Sydney as it has been consistently rated as one of the best Hyatt luxury properties worldwide.  The hotel, located in the heart of Sydney Harbor at the Rocks, is famous for its stunning views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Price As a category 8 hotel, the Park Hyatt Sydney is Hyatt's most expensive award category ranging from 35k-45k points per night.  Fortunately, since we were traveling during Australia's "slower" winter season, we were able to get off-peak rates of 35k for most of our nights in a standard 1 King Bed room.
