ACT FAST: new IHG PointBreaks list released for stays through January 31st

IHG PointBreaks have always been sweet redemption spots for IHG points, with free nights for as low as 5,000 points.  The PointBreaks lists are released quarterly, and IHG has just released their current list today, which is valid for stays through January 31, 2020.  Here are my personal top picks for the new list:

How to book

Go here for the full comprehensive list.  Bear in mind that although the bookings and stays must be completed by January 31st, these free nights are capacity controlled and could easily disappear far earlier.  Since cancellations are free up until the property's cancellation policy deadline, which is typically 24 hours before check-in date, you can also do speculative bookings in case you plan on hitting up any of the spots.

How to earn IHG points

By far the easiest way of amassing IHG points is through their sign-up offers for the Chase IHG Premier and Traveler cards.  The Premier and no-annual fee Traveler cards are currently offering sign-up offers of 80k and 60k points, respectively, though we've seen higher offers of up to 125k for the Premier card.  IHG also regularly offers 100% purchase bonuses for their points, which comes out to 0.5 cents per point.  So the 10k PointBreak properties would only come out to $50 per night if you were to buy the points.

Quick thoughts on IHG PointBreaks list

This is a pretty good PointBreaks list IMHO.  It's really too bad that the Japan and New Zealand properties weren't on the list when I visited the two countries as it could have saved me a good amount of cash with these excellent redemption values.  If you were planning or even just thinking of visiting any of the destinations on the list, don't delay and book now.
