Donate to relief efforts of Hurricane Dorian and earn United and AA miles

We've all seen the catastrophic toll that Hurricane Dorian has taken on the Bahamas and parts of the East Coast of the U.S.  United Airlines has partnered with 4 relief partner (Airlink, the American Red Cross, Americares, and GlobalGiving) to match the first $100,000 in donations, which they have already accomplished.  On top of that, United is offering up to 1,000 award miles for donations to any of their 4 partners.  United MileagePlus Members who donate $50-$99 USD will receive 250 bonus award miles, members who donate $100-$249 USD will receive 500 bonus award miles, and members who donate $250 or more will receive 1,000 bonus award miles.  All donations are tax deductible and must be done between September 6 and September 30 through their donations portal.

Similarly, American Airlines has partnered with the Red Cross of America, and is offering 10 miles for every dollar donated, with a minimum donation of $25, through September 20.  Donations are fully tax deductible and must be made through their donations portal to be eligible to receive the bonus miles.

It's always great to see these airlines step up together to help the victims in need as a result of the devastating hurricane.  Of course, receiving bonus miles shouldn't be the only reason why you donate, but it's good to see that these airlines are offering incentives to potential donors so that we can all step up together in these relief efforts to help those in need.
