Cheap flights to Asia and Europe, bonus gift cards, and more with Delta's Dream It Live It Event

Delta has been on a role recently with this week's Dream It Live It Event.  Yesterday, they offered a $25 bonus Delta eCard with a $250 Delta gift card purchase.  The deal is still active and ends while supplies last.  The $25 Delta eCard does need to be redeemed by 12/31/2019, but can be used on almost any flight booked on delta.com in the future, including flights on their SkyTeam partner carriers.

Delta processes gift card transactions directly, so if you're going to take advantage of this deal, be sure to use a credit card that earns bonus on flights booked directly with the airline like the Amex Platinum for 5x MR.

Today, Delta is offering flights to Europe for 40,000 miles (plus taxes and fees) or $539 round trip when you book by 11:59 pm ET on August 30, 2019, and travel between January 7, 2020 – March 31, 2020.

These are some great deals both for paid and award tickets, especially since Delta Skymiles typically aren't the most valuable.  And not to be outdone by their deals to Europe, they're also offering an award flash sale to Asia.

The offer dates are dependent on the route, and it looks like most of the deals fall into the October-December time frame.  But remember that these “sales” often go on for longer than advertised.  The offers in the 40k range are all great deals, and I definitely wouldn't delay if you plan on taking advantage of this flash sale.

If you've been sitting on your stash of Delta Skymiles for a while now, which don't expire, you may also want to consider redeeming them for Delta Vacations, which is offering a value of 2 cents per mile this week only instead of the standard 1 cent per mile.  This essentially values Skymiles at 2 cents each for this week only, and is a great way to redeem your miles.

Bottom Line

Delta is nailing it with this week's Dream It Live It Event.  Skymiles are rarely valued at anything even close to 2 cents per mile, but they are for this week.  And if you're planning on traveling to Asia or Europe, you may want to take advantage of their award sales.  You can now unleash your stash of SkyPesos...errr...Skymiles that you've been sitting on for the past decade.
