$70 Amazon.com savings with Chase, Amex, Citi, and Discover

Amazon.com has allowed you to redeem your Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Points, and Discover Cashback towards purchases for quite some time now.  I always discourage redeeming your points for Amazon purchases since the redemption value is very poor at <1 cent per point.  However, Amazon currently has four targeted offers for the credit cards that would allow you to save up to $70 by redeeming just 1 point with your associated cards.  Let's take a look at each targeted offer.

Chase UR - $15 off $60+ purchase

If you have a Chase UR card linked to your Amazon account, check to see if you were targeted for this offer, which is good through September 30, 2019 but could always end sooner.

Amex MR - $30 off $60+ purchase

If you have an Amex MR card linked to your Amazon account, go here to see if you were targeted for this offer which ends on December 31, 2019 but could always end sooner.

Citi TYP - $15 off $50+ purchase

If you have a Citi TYP card linked to your Amazon account, check to see if you were targeted for this one that ends on December 31, 2019.

Discover Cashback - $10 off $30+ purchase

With a Discover cashback card, see if you were targeted for this one that ends on December 31, 2019.

Bottom line

Since you only need to redeem 1 point to be eligible for these targeted offers, I always recommend redeeming the minimum 1 point, which knocks a penny off your purchase.  Remember that your associated credit card needs to be linked to your Amazon account with points redemption as an option before you'd be eligible for any of these offers.

Even if you don't intend on purchasing anything from Amazon, these are still great deals to take advantage of as they can be used towards the purchase of 3rd party gift cards, though not Amazon gift cards.  My personal favorites are Lyft and Uber to get you to the airport for your next biz class flight, and Safeway and Whole Foods for your protein cooking.  These gift cards don't go on sale very often, unlike Southwest, iTunes, Google Play, hotels.com, and AirBNB gift cards, which you can typically buy at discounted rates when they're on sale.  Don't go for the Burger King, Domino's, and Cold Stone gift cards because then you're just counting on cheater meals.
